Parent University to Host Workshop Regarding Math Discourse

The Liverpool Central School District is a large and dynamic school district, and we realize it can be difficult for parents to learn about the different academic and extracurricular opportunities available to students. The goal of establishing the district’s Parent University is to provide a platform that will strengthen the home/school connection by increasing awareness regarding the programs the district has to offer, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities we face in public education.
Next Topic: Focus on K-6 Mathematics
When: Thursday, September 26, at 7 p.m.
Location: District Office (195 Blackberry Road) - Board Room
On the evening of Thursday, September 26, the focus of the Parent University Workshop will be math discourse. Executive Director for Math, Science and Technology Kasey Dolson plans to model a second grade lesson for parents that includes the Think, Share, Compare Routine, as well as Multiple Models, and of course, Math Discourse.
